Cló Gaelach Nua - A New Gaelic Typeface
Cill Aodáin (Cill Liadain) (Anois Teacht an Earraigh)
le Antaine Ó Reachtabhra (Raifteirí) (1784-1835)
Anois teacht an earraigh beidh an lá ag dul chun síneadh,
Is tar éis na féil Bríde ardóidh mé mo sheol.
Ó chuir mé I mo cheann é ní chónóidh me choíche
Go seasfaidh mé síos i lár Chondae Mhaigh Eo
I gClár Chlainne Mhuiris a bheas mé an chéad oíche,
Is I mBalla taobh thíos de a thosós mé ag ól
Go Coillte Mách rachad Go ndéanfad cuairt mhíosa ann
I bhfogas dhá mhíle Do Bhéal an Átha Mhóir
Attempts are ongoing to make this gaelic script available for universal use. You can download and print off a sample PDF here of the four versions, Regular, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic. It includes the old Gaelic dotted consonants, dotless i, lowercase r longleg, s shortleg, s shortleg dot, the tironian-et shown here & replaces the ampersand, which is now only present as insert character.
You can test the font in the textbox below…Copy and paste as much text as you wish ..when typing in Modern Irish use AltGr then the vowel gives the fada like á ú ó É Á Ó..
